Karnataka Examination Authority releases Karnataka Common Entrance Test Notification for 2013

Karnataka Examination Authority takes responsibility of notifying the details of various entrance examinations which gives admission in various Professional colleges in the state of Karnataka. Now it releases the notification of KCET for 2013 for admission to Medical/Dental, Engineering /Technology, B.Sc , Ayurveda,Homeopathy, Unani,Naturopathy, Yoga etc.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For Medical/Dental courses(MBBS/BDS):Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s equivalent from any recognised board with minimum of 50% marks aggregate in Physics,Chemistry and Biology subjects and must have English as one of the subject(40% for reserved category)
  • For Ayurveda, Homeopathy,Unani,Naturopathy and Yoga(ISM & H): Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s equivalent from any recognised board with minimum of 50% marks aggregate in Physics,Chemistry and Biology subjects and must have English as one of the subject(40% for reserved category)
  • For Engineering/Technology(B.Tech/B.E):Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s Equivalent from any recognised board with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics and any one of  Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics/Computer.(40% for reserved category)
    • For B.Tech(Food Technology)/B.Tech(Diary Technology)/B.F.Sc.(Fishery sciences)/B.Tech(Food Science & Technology): Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s Equivalent from any recognised board with Physics,Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology as optional subjects.
    • For B.Tech(Agriculture Engineering):Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s Equivalent from any recognised board with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects.
  • For Architecture(B.Arch): Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s Equivalent from any recognised board with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects and must have Mathematics as compulsory optional subjects.
  • For B.Sc(Agriculture),B.Sc(Forestry),B.Sc(Sericulture),B.Sc(Agri.Biotech),B.Sc(Horticulture),B.H.Sc(Home Science), B.Sc(Ag. Marketing and Co-operation): Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s Equivalent from any recognised board with Physics,Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology as optional subjects.
  • For Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry(B.V.Sc & A.H): Candidates should have passed 10+2 or it’s equivalent from any recognised board with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics,Chemistry, Biology and English.(40%  marks for reserved category)

Candidates who meets the above eligibility criteria and are interested to join in Professional Educational Institutions in the state of karnataka can apply from 8th March 2013. Candidates belonging to Karnataka state and are studying 2nd PUC  or 12th Class can get the application forms from their college/School either by paying fee as cash or can pay through NEFT at Indian bank or UTR number in other than Indian Bank branches.

Candidates are also informed that they must return the filled in application form to the Head of the college or institution and the institution  will hold the total responsibility to send the filled in application forms to Administrative Officer,Karnataka Examination Authority,Malleshwaram,18th cross,Sampige road,Bangalore-560012 on or before 5th April 2013.

Candidates who are interested to attempt KCET 2013 and are Outsiders of Karnataka can pay fee through NEFT and should send an e-mail to Administrative Officer,KEA at keauthority-ka@nic.in in the prescribed format to get the brochure cum Application form.Then Candidate should send a copy of Filled in application form through mail to above given mail ID and another copy of filled in Application form with Signature and Photograph should be sent to Administrative officer, Karnataka Examination Authority ,Malleshwaram,18th cross,Sampige road,Bangalore-560012 on or before 5th April 2013.

Candidates may also get the Brochure cum Application form by post by sending DD in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority.

Common Entrance Test Schedule:

For Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga Candidates Kannada language test will be held on 3rd May 2013 from 11.30 AM to 12.30 PM for 50 marks at Bangalore only.Exam will be free from Negative marking. Answer keys Of the examination will be published with in one week after the commencement of examination.Candidates may raise and send  their representations with in 5 days after publishing results along with documents proving justification to the above mentioned e-mail address.

Candidates who are intended to get the seat in Special category i.e NCC,Sports, Physically disabled can verify their certificates on 29th and 30th May 2013.Seat matrix will be available for candidates on 12th June 2013.Candidates are informed that only after the verification of documents they are allowed to enter their options.

Certificates to be produced at the time of verification are :

  •  ‘CET 2013’ Admission Ticket
  • SSLC / 10th Standard Marks Card
  •  2nd PUC / 12th Standard Marks Card
  •  Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO / DDPI
  • TWO recent passport size photograph
  •  Income Certificate obtained from concerned Tahasildar to claim “Supernumerary Quota” seats.(if Applicable)
  •  Kannada Medium Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO, for the candidates claiming Kannada Medium reservation benefits.(if Applicable)
  • Rural Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO and a verification certificate (only for GM candidates). (if Applicable)
  • Caste Certificate / Caste Income Certificate / Income Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahasildar, for the candidates claiming Reservation benefits. (if Applicable)
  • Parent’s study certificate / Parent’s Hometown certificate / Parent’s Domicile certificate / Parent’s Employment certificate / Parent’s Cumulative Record / Parent’s Marks Card, etc., for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats based on the domicile / study / employment of the parent. (if Applicable)
  •  Duly sworn in Affidavit of the candidate who claims eligibility under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses.(if Applicable)
  • IDENTITY CARD issued by the Jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner / District Magistrate, for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Jammu & Kashmiri Migrants quota (if Applicable)

They can enter their options from 15th June 2013 to 23rd June 2013.First round of admission will be done after 6.00 PM of 29th June 2013. Candidates can confirm their allotment by paying fee and get the receipt of Admission order from 1st July to 4th July 2013.Candidates who are allotted seats must report to the allotted institution on or before 6th July 2013.

Candidates are informed that to get admission in various courses they must reach the marks fixed by KEA obtained in CET 2013 and the Merit list will also be prepared as per the guidelines of KEA.

Candidates are intimated to observe the cut-off  point fixed in CET 2013 for getting admission into Various Professional colleges mentioned below:

  • For Dental/Medical(MBBS/BDS): Candidate must get a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in CET 2013.(40% for reserved category)
  • For  Ayurveda, Homeopathy,Unani,Naturopathy and Yoga(ISM & H) and Engineering/Technology(B.Tech/B.E): No minimum marks are are fixed in CET 2013.
  • For B.Arch( Architecture): Candidate must have obtained 40% marks in NATA.
  • For B.Sc /Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry : No minimum marks are are fixed in CET 2013.

Candidates are informed that Rank list will be prepared as the Guidelines by KEA which is shown below for your Guidance:

  • For Dental/Medical(MBBS/BDS): Rank list will be prepared only by taking account of marks obtained in PCB subjects in CET 2013.
  • For Ayurveda, Homeopathy,Unani,Naturopathy and Yoga(ISM & H): Rank list will be prepared by taking account of marks in qualifying Examination and CET 2013 of PCB subjects equally.
  • For Engineering/Technology(B.Tech/B.E):Rank list will be prepared by taking account of marks in qualifying Examination and CET 2013 of PCM subjects equally.
    • For B.Tech B.Tech(Food Technology)/B.Tech(Diary Technology)/B.F.Sc.(Fishery sciences)/B.Tech(Food Science & Technology): Rank list will be prepared by taking account of marks in qualifying Examination and CET 2013 of PCMB subjects equally.
    • For  B.Tech(Agriculture Engineering):Rank list will be prepared by taking account of marks in qualifying Examination and CET 2013 of PCM subjects equally.
  • For Architecture(B.Arch): Rank list will be prepared by Taking account of marks in qualifying Examination and NATA equally.
  • For B.Sc(Agriculture),B.Sc(Forestry),B.Sc(Sericulture),B.Sc(Agri.Biotech),B.Sc(Horticulture),B.H.Sc(Home Science), B.Sc(Ag. Marketing and Co-operation): Rank list will be prepared by taking account of Marks in qualifying examination and CET 2013 in PCB subjects equally.
  • For Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry: Rank list will be prepared only based on marks obtained in CET 2013 of PCB subjects.
